July 12 in Paris

Today my friend Janice arrived in Paris to accompany me around the city.  She and I have traveled to France several times and she is a perfect fellow explorer.  We visited Odiot Silversmiths.  They were the company Thomas Jefferson contacted when he desired to buy silver goblets.  This design is still available at the shop near the Madeleine.  Unfortunately  the 700 euro plus price tag prohibited me from purchasing one.  It was  beautiful shop and we noticed as we left that there was a second floor that must have had even more wonderful things.

On my continuing quest to find the best food in Paris, we stopped at Breizh Cafe Creperie in the Marais.  It was packed, but they found room for us.  These were crepes made in the style of Brittany, most reports say these are Paris' best.  We loved them!  Take a look at some of their offerings.

Today was the first real day of rain, but that hardly dampened our spirit of adventure.  A photography exhibit at the Carnavalet, and shopping completed our day.
